How much would it be to custom build my home?

Canada is where i live. So im planning on custom building my bungalow house and im not sure what im getting myself into. My neighborhood has a lot of costum built homes and since my house is one of the few bungalows left i would like to tear that down and built a brand new home. Question: How much do you think it would cost to custom build my way or a already planned house? Where would we stay within the time the house is being built?

1. WOW--it varies tremendously in different parts of the country. Around here (Alabama) is is about 150 dollars a sq ft up,up,up And we live in one of the most affordable housing areas around. With gas prices so high, and all building materials shipped, it is gonna get a lot higher, real fast. Think about remodeling if you can.
